Competitions
Many photo clubs hold various competitions throughout the year. To enter you MUST check the individual competition rules to make sure you are entering correctly. And do check those Terms and Conditions!
There are 2 ‘sections’ in most competitions: Prints, and Digital Images.
Members can enter either or both sections.
‘Prints’ are photos printed on photo paper, and are mounted on 50 cm x 40 cm mountboard. There is obviously a cost to printing.
A ‘Digital Image’ is an electronic digitalised photo which can be viewed on a computer or computerised device.
‘Digital Images’ have replaced the old film slides. The same as Slides, we still project Images onto a screen to view them.
Digital projectors use a landscape framework (not square) for projection, so all images must fit within that frame.
To protect your copyright: Images must be resized down to 1600 px wide for landscape formats, or 1200 px high for portrait format. See our ‘How to enter…’ PDF.
Images are free to produce so will help to keep your costs down.
